Dental fillings and sealants

Natural Tooth Colored FillingsAt Beacon Hill Dental we offer fillings that match the natural color of your teeth!

An increasingly popular alternative to silver amalgam fillings are composite white fillings. Unlike amalgam fillings, composite fillings are virtually invisible and our team can shade them according to the color of your teeth to create a perfect match, giving you a beautiful smile!

There are many benefits of tooth-colored fillings, also known as composite fillings or bonding. They are created to match your tooth to ensure a natural look and feel. Composite fillings are created with smaller preparations so that less of your tooth structure is lost. The material is made from acrylic and glass particles, containing no mercury or other metals. They can also provide support to remaining tooth structure, and insulates against temperature changes!

What to expect at your Filling Process

The stages of tooth decayFirst, the targeted tooth is prepared to remove decay. Next, a bonding agent is applied to the prepared tooth The composite material is placed and molded to your tooth structure The material is hardened by focusing a specialized light on it. The filling is now complete and you have a bright, natural-looking new tooth! Your filling brightness can be maintained by simply practicing good oral hygiene and avoiding food and drinks such as coffee, soda, tea, etc.

Dental Sealants

Dental sealants have proven to be very effective in preventing decay on the biting surfaces of molars. We “paint” a tooth-colored acrylic onto the surface of the tooth. This effectively seals the deep grooves and protects the tooth from plaque and acids. It takes just a few minutes to seal each tooth. Sealants can last several years before a reapplication is needed. We recommend sealants for children and adults.
